– The National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK), Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Muslims for Human Rights (MUHURI) have called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy, William Ruto, to sack Aden Duale as the Leader of Majority in the National Assembly and arrest him for aiding and abetting Al Shabaab terrorists.Speaking separately, the three organizations beseeched Uhuru/ Ruto to compel Aden Duale to reveal the names of his Al Shabaab comrades with immediate effect because he knows them by names.Things got worse for Duale after MUHURI, one of the organizations whose accounts have been frozen for having links with Al Shabaab, sensationally named Aden Duale as among the Al Shabaab financiers in Kenya.Addressing journalists at CID headquarters yesterday, MUHURI Chairman Khalef Khalifa said Duale knows all the Al Shabaab terrorists in Kenya because he is one of their financiers and that he should be arrested and grilled over the same.He was accompanied by MUHURI board members, Gabriel Dolan and Maina Kiai, who challenged Uhuru/ Ruto to stop dilly dallying with the issue of terrorism and arrest Duale as a matter of urgency because his presence in Government is a threat to national security. The organizations were reacting to Duale’s assertions after the massacre of 147 students that he knows the Al Shabaab terrorists operating in Kenya and that he will name them in month’s time.
Nairobi – Embattled Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba has revealed that the National Assembly Majority Leader, Aden Duale has been a force behind the push for his removal as the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chair.Namwamba who appeared before the Parliamentary Powers and Privileges Committee claimed in an infamous audio recording where he reveals Duale mobilized CORD members in PAC and urged them to sign the petition that would have seen him removed from the watchdog committee. The audio recording played before the probing committee reveals voices of Namwamba, Cord leader Raila Odinga, Samuel Arama(Nakuru West MP) and Junet Mohamed (Suna East MP) discussing on woes affecting PAC particularly pointing out ODM MPs being used by Duale to disgruntle the committee.“This thing (signing of petition to remove Ababu) is being pushed by Duale who wants Ababu out of the committee because he (Ababu) is not flexible,” a voice on the tape, believed to be that of Arama is overheard saying.“Duale was using [Edick] Anyanga (Nyatike MP) and Abbas [Mohamed] (Ijara MP]. Duale wanted Ababu out because he is not flexible. There was no money involved, I can assure you, Your Excellency,” the voice tells Raila.According to the voice in the recording, Namwamba’s tribulations stems from the decision by his committee to audit confidential expenditures in the Office of the President and those of IEBC related to the Biometric Voters’ Register (BVR).Namwamba is also heard telling Odinga that Anyanga had been picked as Jubilee’s candidate for PAC in the last committee’s election and accuses Duale of having micro-managed the last election to ensure that Anyanga won the seat.“I became the chair of PAC against the wishes of Jubilee. Anyanga was Jubilee’s choice. Jubilee gave Anyanga money. Duale attended the election to ensure that Anyanga won,” says Namwamba.Namwamba who had been accompanied by his lawyer, the Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma tabled the flash disk recording, a copy of Nairobi law Monthly Magazine, the Auditor General report on the revenue and expenditure accounts of the IEBC and the committee’s report on the infamous Hustler’s jet to the committee as evidence. He questioned the National Assembly leadership to explain why the Hustler’s Jet report, tabled in the House mid last year had not been debated by the House.Upon submitting the crucial evidence to the committee, Namwamba declared his life was in danger and notified the members of his move to report the same to the CID while asking for more security from the government. The Powers and Privileges committee will thoroughly scrutinized the submitted evidence before making the decision on its validity and table the investigations report on the floor of the House. However, over 15 MPs Luhya MPs have come in support of Namwamba evidence he has provided to the committee exposing senior government officials involved in corruption should serve to end the ever-rising cases of the vice in the country. The legislators led by Kimilili MP, Eseli Simiyu maintained that corruption allegations against Namwamba are aimed at tarnishing his name, which they held the perpetrators’ motive will not succeed.
